  Ashok Dhanrajgir
  Chief Executive Officer

  Ashok brings more than 17 years of international healthcare experience, focused primarily on Corporate & Business Development, Mergers & Acquisitions and Strategic Planning within leading multinational corporations where he was responsible for crafting the blueprints for growth and consummating a number of transformational deals.  Recent appointments include Vice President and Worldwide Head of Corporate & Business Development at MerckSerono; Senior Vice President and Worldwide Head of Strategic Planning, Business Development & Licensing at Novartis Consumer Health; Vice President and Head of Strategy and Business Development Europe at Baxter. Experience includes senior positions at Roche, Andersen Consulting and Rhone-Poulenc, with an MA in economics and an MBA from ESSEC.

  Dr Jason Smythe
  Chief Scientific Officer

  Dr Jason Smythe has over 22 years research and management experience in the biotechnology sector in Australia and USA. He holds a BSc(Hons) degree in Immunology from Monash University, a PhD from The Walter and Eliza Hall Institute for Medical Research, and performed his postdoctoral studies as an NHMRC C.J. Martin Fellow at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda (USA).  Jason has held senior positions at Johnson & Johnson; the Children’s Medical Research Institute; CSIRO; the Australian Tissue Engineering Centre Limited; and most recently as CSO of Benitec Limited. He has published over 30 manuscripts, been granted 4 patents and awarded 3 International Fellowships. He is an Editor of the journal Expert Opinion on Biological Therapy, a Member of the last two NHMRC Development Grants Review Panels, and a Member of the Federal Governments Gene Technology Technical Advisory Committee.  Jason also holds a Graduate Certificate in Change Management from the AGSM and a Company Directors’ Diploma from The Australian Institute of Company Directors. He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and an Associate Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management.

  Becky Hyde
  Chief Marketing Officer

  Becky has 20 years industry marketing experience, most of which has been developing and implementing strategies for global brands.  She recently worked at Rinoldi Pasta in the role of National Sales & Marketing Director for 18 months.  In her tenure there she repositioned each of the key brands, developing new brand identities and communication strategies which resulted in volumes doubling in each of the leading retail chains.  Prior to that Becky worked for JWT (multinational communications agency) for 13 years where she managed the Kraft Foods account for Asia Pacific, taking financial and strategic responsibility for 11 countries.  She sat on the Global Management Team and represented Kraft on the Regional Category Teams that were responsible for developing growth strategies for categories across the region.

  Paul Sherman
  Chief Financial Officer

  Paul holds a Bachelor of Business from RMIT, an MBA from the AGSM and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.  Paul spent four and half years with Pitcher Partners in an audit and advisory capacity before moving to Fosters Group where he served in several senior finance roles, culminating in the role of General Manager Finance for the Global Clubs and Services Division.  More recently he worked as Group Financial Controller at Nylex for eighteen months.

  Bill Ramsay
  Operation Manager - Far North Queensland

  Bill started his career with a fitting and turning apprenticeship at Mossman Central Mill.  He then worked for 17 years at Weston Baked Foods in Melbourne in a number of roles, and thereafter worked in various industries installing new plant and managing initial production runs.  Bill decided to move back to Far North Queensland several years ago and now oversees production at our state-of-the-art plant in Mossman.

  Dr Ankur Desai
  Principal Food Technologist

  Dr Ankur Desai has over 6 years food industry experience and an additional 2 years focused research experience from Victoria University. Ankur holds a BSc and Masters in Microbiology, and has completed his PhD degree in Food Science from Victoria University. He has published 3 manuscripts and presented talks at three international conferences. Ankur has professional affiliations with the Australian Institute of Food Science and Technology and the Australian Society of Microbiology, and complements the team at Horizon Science by bringing a range of research, development and leadership skills in the role of Principal Food Technologist.

  Ria Setyabudi
  Senior Food Technologist

  Ria holds a Master of Food Technology from RMIT University. Recently, she worked as a Product Development Technologist at Campbell’s Australia for 19 months. During this time, she has developed new products that have been marketed in the supermarket around Australia. Prior to that, she worked as a Food Technologist at Hermans Foods for over 3 years where she was responsible in Quality Assurance and Product Development.

  Emma Heap
  Manager Corporate Support

  Emma holds a Diploma of Business with Swinburne University.  Prior to joining Horizon Science, Emma worked for 5 years at Online Learning Australia where she was Office Manager & Bookkeeper. She brings with her a broad range of financial and administration skills.  Emma is generally the first person you will speak to when calling Horizon.

  Johanna Leonhardt
  Plant Laboratory Technician - Far North Queensland

  Johanna completed her Bachelor of Forensic Science (Analytical chemistry) with Honours in 2009 at Deakin University in Geelong, Victoria. During her Honour’s year, she researched, developed and optimized methods on determining Peroxide Values in antioxidants for an American company, Kemin Nutrisurance® and has experience working on Gas Chromatograms, High Performance Liquid Chromatograms and UV/Vis Spectrometers. As a graduate student she has had contractual employment at Incitec Pivot Pty Ltd as a Laboratory Technician before commencing her work at Horizon Science in March 2010 as a Plant Laboratory Technician at the Mossman plant in FNQ.
